Nationwide Training and Safety Services Ltd can offer or adapt any course within its ever increasing repertoire to suit an individual or company.
CPCS Technical Tests
Nationwide Training and Safety Services Ltd have been granted Test Centre Status for our training grounds in Cambridgeshire (a satellite centre is being sourced in Suffolk for 2009).
The Technical Test is in two parts and any of our CPCS Trainers and Testers are available to discuss your needs or queries:
- A CPCS Theory Test - consists of a number of questions on Health & Safety and Technical elements for the type of equipment under test
- A CPCS Practical Test - consists of a number of tasks to judge the competency of the operator in skill and judgement whilst using the machine
NOTE: The CPCS Theory element is required to be taken and achieved prior to an attempt on the CPCS Practical Test. This is to ensure that the Candidate has demonstrated a fundamental knowledge of the category for safety reasons.
NVQ Assessments for CPCS upgrade to 5yr Card
Plant Operators working in construction with Red cards due to expire or have expired will need to in order to obtain a blue 5yr card must complete the relevant NVQ level 2. As an NVQ Assessment Centre we are able to carry out the necessary assessments for your operator / operatives or for an individual to achieve their NVQ in the category or categories of plant.
NVQ Specialist Cladding and Rainscreen
Experienced operatives working in the construction industry wishing to get a qualification to prove their skill by completing a NVQ Level 2 in Specialist Cladding and Rainscreen, Rack and Pinion erection and dismantle, can turn their already existing skills and knowledge into a nationally recognised qualification. The whole process is completed while you are on site, so no lost time is involved. A CSCS card can be applied for with this qualification.
Plant / Equipment Operator Training
All operatives that use either plant or equipment is required by the PUWER Regulation that they have received adequate information, instruction and training. Training by our qualified Trainers can be carried out at your premises or at our Training site located in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Courses
IOSH is Europe’s leading body for Health and Safety Professionals.
- 5 days IOSH Managing Safely in Construction - For Managers and Senior Site Staff.
- 4 days IOSH Managing Safely - For non-Health and Safety expert personnel who have to manage risk and resources.
P.A.S.M.A
Under the Work at Height Regulations 1995, it requires that the assembly, dismantling or alteration of Mobile Access Towers should only be undertaken by a Competent Person, or if being trained, under the supervision of a Competent Person. The PASMA Standard Courses is a One day course, that will allow operatives to assembly, inspect and dismantle Mobile Towers safely.
